Fluffy Waffles

I'm killing the pain with food. Right now it's spinach salad with mushrooms and everyone's mom's favourite salad dressing Little Creek. So yeah spinach doesn't quite cure the hurt but come Sunday you better believe that I'm going to eat waffle after waffle, stacking them up until I'm comatose. Fluffy waffles recipe from Mr. Breakfast.com, and fluffy waffle tips here. This should be included with the instruction manual for ALL waffle makers, and should be the last part of the bible, you know, after revelations. The book of wafflelations. Take note of the beautiful, um... vase on the table, breakfast indeed! I'm designing and ordering business cards for myself right now. $40 for 1000 full colour two sides? That is, as John would say, crase-ee.

Notes to Photographers

After finishing a photoshoot don't give all the jpgs to the client offering to let them make their choices of the best images, because they'll definitely either pick all photographs where you missed the focus OR just take the images themselves and do what they want with them. Learning!

Flickr, Business Plans, Etc.

I've been working on my business plan in my head lately, figuring out how I'm going to structure it and all that. Also have about three photo projects that need to be finished today or this weekend at the latest. First though I need to finish (and start) my presentation on Gregory Crewdson for my photographic art history course. So I'm feeling pretty busy and stressed. Man do I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow.
Check out my Flickr page. I just recently posted some of my best iphone pictures from summer 2010.

Photography Spring 2011 Preview

Here's a preview of what I'm sure will be common subjects for my Spring 2011 Photography Collection.

Capa Was Wrong...ish

Loyalist Militiaman at the Moment of Death, Cerro Muriano (AKA Robert Capa) - September 5 1936

Probably the MOST famous war photographer Robert Capa once said
"If your photos aren't good enough, you aren't close enough."
I don't disagree with this statement entirely, however when I go to see a band play and there are three photographers in the front all taking tightly cropped photos of the lead singer posturing it makes me wonder if there isn't perhaps a better way. A way that doesn't draw others away from the moment, a way that gets across more of the surroundings and more of the experience instead of just pure cropped singing emotion. Yes there is another way. If your band photos are the same as everyone elses, you're too close!

...scanner

I finally got a scanner after many years of occasionally needing one. Thank you Glenn Leavit. Sorry that I don't know how to spell your name. I owe you $20. For the scanner, not for spelling your name wrong.
This photo is over three years old!

My Birthday

Today is my birthday, hooray!
So I thought I'd celebrate in the Gulliver's Travels method of giving presents on ones birthday. My present to you is this:

So COOL, get it?

I got this image from breadcamesliced's tumblr. If you ever need random inspiration or a good chuckle check out breadcamesliced.tumblr.com. Weird, funny, creepy, and crazy images. Whoever runs the blog is posting several pictures everyday and has been for at least six months. Imagine the size of his image library.
No new work from me as I've been busy studying for exams (because "tests" doesn't sound adult enough), but I have been batting around the idea of portraits of the people I live with.
