Photography Scans - Sketchbook - Camping Drawings - Derek by Louise
It's good to have paper and pens and pencils when you go camping so you and your camping friends can draw people that you've met during the trip, and afterwards you can use the same paper and pens and pencils to compose really nice long run-on sentences.

Photography Scans - The Weirdness - This Scanner Finds Things ~ Father & Mother's Brother, a photo by pedter on Flickr.
This digital version seems different to my eye, it's far less contrasty, and the damage to the print is now a part of the image, as time passes the original print will get more scratches but this SCAN is a moment in time for THE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH. A photo of a photo. I'm starting to think that this is actually a whole new image. One related to the original print yes, but a distinct and separate entity.
The PHOTO is of my father Lane Onyschuk and my uncle Johannes Zits.
And so is the scan.

Saturday
I've been trying to figure out how to make photographs w/o perspective for the last couple months. The images I want to make are somewhere between traditional japanese woodblock prints, inuit art, and other non photographic stuff with different perspective like the elgin marbles. Yesterday I started fooling around with these two images in photoshop and before I realized what I was doing it I found a potential way of expressing photography w/o perspective. *Big Grin*
I realize it's not as elegant as it COULD be but I feel like I'm on the right track!
