Grand Parents

This is a photo of my Dad's Mom and Dad. I love this photo. It's perfectly dated and timeless at once, a photo of two loving happy people, awkward and confident. This to me is pure portraiture from a period when subjects and photographers were more reverent of the process. It's crazy to me that this party pic says so much to me about these two people. One of the saddest things in my life (so far) is that I never met them. When my dad was in his 20's he started making some good money and bought his parents plane tickets to some sunny destination. On the way to the airport they were hit by a drunk driver and both died.
Rest In Peace Grandma and Grandpa.

Queen E. Paster Pastel Colour B - 2011

                   VS.

One image I made when I was sixteen and the other ten years later at the age of 26. No, I don't know what "Paster" is. I like the newer image better however I wish I still had the Photoshop recipe for the first image.

Scans

Some of the stuff I've scanned recently:

Check out the little x's on the eyes of one of the seals. Priceless! This was up on a wall at my Oma's place for decades. The lion image is from a Dutch fairytale book. We've also got some good looking packaging. There's some seriously beautiful design going on at the Head Office of Faro Mexican Tabacalera Co. The biker images are from an issue of Into The Wind Magazine from the 80's.
